How to manage inbound stock to your store

If you've got a retail store, you'll need to manage your inbound stock. Whether that is adding product line, restocking existing products or generally replenishing.

It's best to count your inbound stock as soon as it arrives, so you know exactly what you have recieved. So you can ensure you've got the correct items and quantities from your suppliers and also so you know exactly what you have in stock.

Setup

To add inbound stock with Pimsical Stock Take, you'll need the following:

  1. Setup Shopify POS for your retail store.
  2. Installed Pimsical Stock Take on your Shopify store.
  3. Added Pimsical Stock Take to your Shopify POS homescreen.

Adding inbound stock

Firstly, you'll need to create a stock take. You can do this from either the Shopify Admin, or on your POS device.

You can then join the stock take on your POS device, this will allow you to scan each product in. The products will need to be setup in Shopify with the right barcode, so you can scan them in.

On your POS device, open the Pimsical Stock Take app, click on the stock take you would like to join. You will either be taken directly to the scanner or have the option to Join stock take, depending on how the stock take was set up.

If you have a larger team, you can also join the stock take on multiple devices, so you can have multiple people counting at the same time.

Once you've finished counting, you can then end and action the stock take. You can choose the add stock action, this will then increase your inventory levels in Shopify by the amount scanned in.
